A Smart Infrared Heater for Standard Household Voltage

The IR Energy mWAVE Smart 1500W is an electric infrared patio heater that mounts on a wall or under a ceiling and is controlled from a remote, an app or your voice. Instead of heating the air, which a breeze carries away, it warms you and the furniture directly, the way the sun does. It is the only mWAVE that runs on 120 volts, which makes it the easy fit for a small covered patio, a balcony or a garage corner.

Sized for One Table or a Pair of Chairs

IR Energy designs this size for an 8-foot mounting height, the lowest the mWAVE goes. From there it covers roughly 15 by 13 feet, about 195 square feet, with the warmest spot directly below and a gentler edge toward the outside. The swivel brackets let you aim it: tilt it up to 67.5 degrees on a wall or 45 degrees on a ceiling to point it at where people actually sit.

Run It From the Couch, Your Phone or Alexa

The handheld remote turns it on and off, steps it through five heat levels from about a third of full power to 100%, and sets a shutoff timer of up to nine hours. It works by line of sight from up to about 16 feet away. In the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app you get the same controls from anywhere, plus schedules and zones if you add more mWAVE Smart heaters later. Alexa and Google Home work too. The app needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Weather-Sealed and Easy on the Eyes

The housing is IP65 rated, sealed against dust and water jets, so it can live outdoors year round. Its woven carbon element glows a warm orange with less glare than a short-wave heater, so an evening on the patio does not feel floodlit. IR Energy rates it at 90% radiant efficiency under AHRI 1330 testing.

Where the 1500W Makes Sense

Pick it for a small covered patio, a condo balcony, a pergola seating nook or a garage workbench, anywhere one zone needs warmth and only standard voltage is available. If your ceiling is higher than 8 feet or you want to warm a bigger area, the mWAVE 2500W is the next step up.

Have an Electrician Hardwire It

There is no plug. An electrician connects it at its junction box on a dedicated circuit sized at 125% of the heater's draw, which works out to a 20-amp circuit. Follow the installation manual for clearances, since they change with the mounting angle. The mWAVE is built in North America, and IR Energy warrants its components for 12 months.
