The Timber Stoves Scout is a tabletop outdoor wood pellet heater that delivers radiant warmth and an enclosed visible flame without propane or electrical power.

Compact Heat for Smaller Outdoor Spaces

The Scout brings the character of a wood-burning flame to patios, decks, and outdoor tables without the tall profile of a full-size patio heater. Its narrow stainless steel body and 37.5-inch height create a compact focal point that can sit closer to an outdoor gathering area.

A 3-by-4.5-inch high-temperature glass window keeps the fire visible while enclosing the flame. The stainless steel exterior gives the heater a clean industrial look and gradually develops a natural heat patina with use.

Wood-Fired Warmth Without Propane or Electricity

The Scout uses gravity and the natural draft created by its stove pipe to move pellets toward the combustion area. It requires no outlet, powered fan, propane tank, or fixed gas connection.

Its 3-pound hopper provides approximately one hour of operation and can be refilled while the heater is burning. Timber Stoves rates the Scout at 25,000 BTUs with a maximum heating radius of 5 feet.

Installation and Outdoor Placement

The Scout is intended for tabletop or freestanding placement in an outdoor area. Set it on a stable, level surface that can safely support its 15-pound weight and withstand heat from the appliance.

No framing, electrical wiring, plumbing, gas line, or permanent venting connection is required. The heater relies on its own vertical stove pipe to create the draft needed for gravity-fed combustion.

A compatible Scout Heat Pad should be placed beneath the heater when additional surface protection is needed. The pad is designed specifically to shield supporting surfaces from heat produced by the Scout.

Use the heater outdoors with appropriate clearance from walls, furniture, overhead materials, and other combustibles. Always follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions and applicable local fire regulations.

Manual Controls and Heating Features

The Scout uses a manual damper dial to regulate airflow and adjust the operating temperature. Timber Stoves states that the damper can raise or lower the temperature by approximately 100°F.

The enclosed wood pellet flame remains visible through the front glass panel while radiant heat moves into the surrounding seating area. The heater does not include electronic controls, a thermostat, remote operation, or powered ignition.

Lighting is completed manually using an appropriate pellet-compatible fire starter. Timber Stoves lists both its natural composite Fire Starter and Alcohol Fire Gel for starting pellet-fueled products.
